Delphi Complete Works of Sir Philip Sidney Illustrated Delphi Poets Series Book 35 edition by Sir Philip Sidney Literature Fiction eBooks

After searching for what seemed like a geological epoch for a comprehensive volume of this wonderful Elizabethan era poet, I could find no collection in print that rivaled this Delphi Complete Works of Philip Sidney. Sidney is a poet of great elegance, charm and wit. He introduced several hundred new words into the English language, and the Oxford English Dictionary contains some two thousand quotations from his poetry as proof of his deep and lasting influence.

This Delphi eBook for the Kindle is nicely formatted, contains much contextual material and several appropriate illustrations. Most importantly, it is complete. It contains both the old and new versions of Arcadia, a solid selection from Sidney's correspondence, all of the significant prose works and all of the attributed poetry listed both alphabetically and chronologically. It even contains two biographies of Sidney. It's hard to love an eBook but this one has become something of special significance to me. Sidney was a superb poet whose work should be far better known. This is undoubtedly the best tool for introducing yourself to a courtier who was both a truly great poet as well as a superb and influential thinker about the art of poetry and the English language, Sir Philip Sidney.
